If you looked up the word “paradise” you could possibly find the Marquesas Keys included in the definition. The Marquesas, a circular shaped group of islands about 30 miles off of Key West, were formed by a meteorite whose impact created a two-mile-wide lagoon perfectly surrounded by land. These Islands represent the only Atoll in the Atlantic Ocean. Technically, they are the backcountry of the Florida Keys, but they are so much more: a lost world between Key West and the Dry Tortugas. The distant edge of nowhere, and the center of all things marine.
Our Marquesas Expedition runs in the month of May and is a minimum of five days and four nights. It begins and ends at A&B Marina in Key West. Our professional staff will greet you upon your arrival to A&B Marina and take it from there! It is our goal to help you make the most of your experience and enjoy everything that we have to offer!
The Marquesas are legendary as a world class fly and light tackle fishery! Tarpon of all sizes swim the flats as well as the edges. We often times find tarpon daisy chaining in just a few feet of water. Permit and other species are also found on the flats when the tides are right. Our professional guides are prepared to put you on fish! Our friends at floridasportsman.com pretty much sum it up in Jody Moore’s article Magic Hours in the Marquesas.
In addition to working hard and pursuing fish, we like to relax. We have snorkeling gear and inflatable rafts onboard for our guests that want to take enjoy a siesta while floating or go explore the pristine waters that surround the GoFarther.
